Learning to Come to Grips with Complex Tasks
Regardless of profession or
industry, each of us has come face-to-face with a complex task – a “project.”
We are then faced with the challenge of organizing our thoughts and
requirements, planning our activities, marshalling our resources, and ensuring
that the project is completed. This workshop provides attendees with essential
project management skills.
Objectives

Learn the essentials of project definition, including clearly
identifying requirements

Learn to create a top-down project task list
·
Learn to accurately estimate task time and resource costs
·
Develop or use tools for project and task tracking
·
Learn effective project communication techniques and tools
Format
This workshop is presented with
short lectures followed by hands-on exercises. Depending on the client’s
needs, this workshop can be presented using all paper-based tools or utilizing
computer-based tools (Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Project, for instance).

Pre-program Preparation:

Each participant will bring information about a real
project they are working on or planning.

Post-program Follow-up:

Instructor will be available for up to 30 minutes of
telephone or email consultation with each attendee for a period of two weeks
after completion of the workshop.
